cobalt = cool.

if you are following my instagram, you may have noticed that i am hung up on some bright blue cobalt, especially in art and accessories (aka pillows) - the color seems super appropriate ERRYWHERE, even in a more traditional space, while also being hip and cool and fresh. turn down for what, or turnnt up the cobalts, or something like that. i don't know the lingo these days, you guys!!

even though it's still a million degrees here in space city, it has been surprisingly cooler in the evenings. which probably explains why i dreamt last night that i was wearing the world's most beautiful cobalt leather jacket. cobalt moto jacket = LITERALLY THE COAT OF MY DREAMS.

are these so last season? i don't even know... i am currently living in a shanty down by the river so i'm not exactly hip to the fashion trends these days. BUT I NEED SOME COBALT LEATHERS STATTY STAT STAT. here are two that i will gladly take if you are feeling benevolent.

vintage floral: hat edition.

between jogging and laziness, i pretty much live in a baseball hat As Much As Possible, so it was impossible to see this hat and not buy it immediately. hopefully it arrives le soon, because we are going on a fishing trip to tampa and i really like to turn heads on the pier with my dockwear. maybe i should have ordered two, because it's the cutest, right? they also had some solid versions, yo.

{biltmore for madewell.}

after all, it's a huge upgrade from my usual camo.

farrow and ball: ocelot.

as a big fan of their paints, i completely stroked out when i saw the preview of new wallpapers by farrow and ball (via their instagram) circa 6 weeks ago. since then, it's been full-on stalk mode.

full-stalk mode, as in, yesterday at my local farrow and ball dealer, i LIT-RALLY went through a box that had just arrived in the mail in order to claim samples of my very own. because i couldn't wait for them to get filed, homies, specifically the ocelot pattern. holy. mother. cow. have y'all seen this yet? i mean like in person? if not, get up and on it, peeps. there are five wonderful colorways and the texture is incredible.

my faves--the darks--have got silver and gold metallic accents, for crying out loud. i'm also a big fan of the way F&B books their papers, showing complimentary paint colors - HOW HANDY, right? so basically, i can't wait to use this paper all over the place.

trunk club.

obvs, i am enduring a great personal struggle with my time these days, trying to get the new company website (uh, and online store-yeeps) up and running, while simultaneously also getting the actual company off the ground and handling a surprising volume of clients, all the while maintaining a rigorous mani-pedi schedule. which is why there has been little to zero blogging, which is why i can't even respond to phone calls in a timely fashion, which is why i've enlisted the services of TRUNK CLUB, in order to make sure sugarbear's wardrobe is on and poppin' this 2013. it's pretty much a personal stylist that picks out MAN CLOTHES and mails them to you, and you send back whatever doesn't work. clearly, it's geared toward dudes, but i wear the pants when it comes to the pants b-radical is wearing, so me and amandalynn will be working together on a fresh look for the hubs this spring. headquartered in my previous hood (chicago), trunk club makes it a point to source items from local and smaller clothing/shoe/accessory vendors, so i anticipate seeing some very unique items when trunk numero uno shows up next week. also, if you're a trunk club member, you can make appointments to stop by the actual brick and mortar location in RiNo Chi, to hang out and drink old fashioned's whilst a probably adorable gal attends to your menswear needs. and the place looks like this, so basically, when are we going to chicago?

stay tuned, and feel free to sign up (or sign your man up) for trunk club, because i get some sort of reward for every referral. WINNING. seriously, click here because mama needs a new pair of shoes. for her husband.

rock bottom prices on louis vuitton, y'all.

citizens of space city, and also the world:

here is your chance to snag an antique louis vuitton trunk for a SONG, or if they are not accepting songs, just over 8,000 bones. check it out here (also b-radical has already told me overmydeadbody.com, so you're welcome to buy it for me).

or you can get one for slightly less of a deal via the dibs. i will say that during a trip to the dragon street area of dallas a few years ago, i saw a wall of these puppies and they were running $30-$40K apiece, so it is quite a bargain.
actual wall of antique LV trunks. i died kind of.

vaya con dios.

although i wasn't born in texas, i did my best to get here as fast as i could, and since the tender age of eighteen have been making a special place in my corazón for all things texan, which includes a no longer surprising amount of mexican influence. of late, my love for things south of the border has transitioned into loco and become a feverish obsession, and this isn't just counting my two chihuahua dog friends (STEVE!). maybe it has to do with the current neon and color gravitation in my life, but i died (and continue to die) over nick olsen's mexican blanket covered chair (which, yes, i know is super old news) and somehow refrained from buying this pair of cactus lamps. this summer, it's been all i could do to not purchase a mara hoffman otomi bathing suit, but when i saw valentina gonzalez wohlers' cactus chairs, the floodgates opened. so here is a post for you on spicy mexican flavor, even though it is not cinco de mayo. arribba, beyonches!

whether it be otomi, sarape, rebozo, faja or huipil, a little goes a long way, but consider these items when adding some pequeña mexicana to your life.
